The Blog

1 billion and…1

By

With over a billion active blogs available today, one has to wonder, why on earth would anyone even consider adding another blog to the mix? Well, to be honest, I’m not 100% sure. But despite my own apprehensions, that’s exactly what I’m about to do. And, in staying true to that ever-important question why, I’ve listed three reasons I feel comfortable adding one more to a billion.

1. It’s an opportunity to more frequently share thoughts, ideas and questions that lie at the very heart of leadership and our purpose in life.

For over twenty years my obsessive studies and unique mix of experiences in business and athletics have allowed me to dissect the subject of leadership every which way imaginable. As a result, I’ve developed some fairly radical thoughts, ideas, and opinions that I think you might find helpful in your leadership journey. But even more important than these thoughts and ideas, are the questions that I believe lie at the very heart of leadership and our purpose on this earth. So, although I love to share thoughts and ideas, it’s the opportunity to challenge you with the deep questions that go along with these thoughts and ideas that really excites me about writing a blog.

2. It’s an opportunity to share from the heart in hopes of challenging and encouraging you in your leadership journey.

Truth be known, I really don’t like to write just to write. I like to write only when I feel I can write something meaningful from the heart. Of course, a blog will allow me to do just that. So, whether the post is from me, or from an occasional guest blogger, my promise to you is that it will always be from the heart, and aimed to challenge and encourage you in your leadership journey.

3. It’s an opportunity to engage in one of the most powerful sources of learning and growth in leadership; dialogue!

The opportunity to engage with one another might just be the number one motive behind my desire to blog. Why? Because despite the fact I’ve read hundreds of books, attending countless seminars, and served in numerous leadership roles over the years, nothing has more powerfully shaped my thinking on leadership than open dialogue with other great leaders. So, whether you agree or disagree with a post, your comments will create a dialogue that; at the very least, broadens perspective and will be a benefit to all.

So with these things in mind, I invite you to join me on this journey by not only subscribing to the blog, but by engaging with me through your comments. Ultimately, we’ll grow in our leadership together, as we learn more about what it truly means to live and LEAD…for God’s Sake!
